On our first episode of Duffercast, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. television series was mentioned.

By an amazing coincidence, I found this in my parents' house the other day:

The car, Gun Firing Thrushbuster, was made by Corgi Toys. The above photo shows Napoleon Solo shooting (while driving of course).

The right hand side (photo below) features Illya Kuryakin, who pops out for some shooting if the roof light is pushed. As shown. When Illya pops out, Mr Solo retracts into his seat. The clicking sound is supposed to be the shooting sound.

I have some vague recollection that me and my brother kept clicking that button as fast as we could to make the "shooting" fast. It still works. In those days, I might inform the younger readers of this blog, car toys were made of metal. Sturdy.

The car is quite well-worn, but the bullet holes in the windscreen are original 😉
