“the most enjoyable wedding ever”

As a certified couch potato, I been watching Netflix quite a bit this past year or so. I don't have a televison gadget and I do not go to the movies so this is one way to keep up with the Joneses popular culture. The general quality is high, so I'll probably come back to Netflix on this here blog at times.

My latest film-viewing was the Nigerian film The Wedding Party. It's a funny and lighthearted comedy, that at times somewhat reminded me of old Swedish comedy films. I think this is the first "Nollywood" film I ever watched.

My favorite scene is a pastor that holds a short sermon as part of the wedding party. He starts of quite normally but soon he brings fire and brimstone which seems rather out of place at a wedding! The bride and her family agrees (the sermon is mainly a warning to the potential temptresses of the groom - "daughters of Jezebel"). The bridegroom and his family look awkward.

The pastor scene can be found on youtube. It's made me laugh out loud every time I watch it. The title of this post is from the sermon. The whole film is worth watching, if one likes non-pretentious comedies.
