Circularity revisited!

See what I did there? Ho ho ho.

I often still hear the "circular economy" blathering. It's like a meme! From local pundits to high political society. I guess they are high on their own slogans. Certainly spouted even from the very top of EU structure. It is heard less often in US political discourse. It would be funny if someone in the Oval Office talked about circularity!

My humour is simple, I am easily amused.

In EU talk, it comes up even when talking about sending money and stuff to war zones. Not sure how they get the ecology in there. Drones are like rockets, but reusable. Good for ze planet! However, it struck me (since I am easily amused) that circular can mean money on the table in one direction, and then money under the table in other direction. Not saying that that is what they mean, but clichés are flexible. Like a rubber band. What goes out comes back. Boing! Circular!

Circular implies it can pass many hands. Due to entropy, some, or more than some, is lost on the way.

Of course, such circularity happens in places where no one uses the phrase.
