... is the title of a 2023 book by Naomi Wolf. I had heard of her years ago, but never read her. To be fair, I think I did not have much interest in the stuff she wrote about. Facing the Beast book is about the covid era, and how she went off the "liberal" plantation, where she had been a prominent member. I am from different life circumstances, and never even met any "elites" of any political colour. But I recognise a lot from her book. Sweden was not as harsh as the US and certainly not like e.g. Canada, Australia and N.Z., three countries she mentions.

However, in Sweden,especially after the "injections" came on the market, there was certainly a lot of zombie-fication here too. People seemed to not be able to observe and think, or did not dare to. I used to jokingly call it "Gonad-19", because a lot of people seem to have lost their balls. Or just their brains. Common sense and logic, hello?

This process was going globally, and across the political and social spectrum. That's why I recognise a lot in her book, even though I am nowhere near moving in such "high" circles.

Even for the person who might not have been on the "dissident" side of things, this is a really good diary-documentary of an evil era. Wolf also calls it "evil", and writes about her spiritual journey.

While writing this I came to think of Howling Wolf's Evil is Goin' On. And NOT because of the name. The lyric is about something more personal and "trivial" than pandemics and medical-industrial-govt complexes, but it, imho, it is quite fitting: "Somethin' just ain't right". Betrayal is something horrible.

Btw, the English wikipedia page about her is full of "conspiracy" mentions which by now is a badge of honor. If you are the wrong sort of controversial, you get that treatment on that site (and elsewhere). I do not recall it used to be like that, but these days it is pathetic, almost comical.
